Iranians Becoming Tired of Strained Relations with US: Iranian Political Scientist

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. D.Khatinoglu / There is no change in the relationship between the US and Iran despite the strengthening of loyal political forces in Iran towards the US.

"In spite of Iranians becoming tired with tense relations with the US, the presidents of both countries are intensifying these relations," Isa Saharkhiz, an Iranian political scientist, said.

The reformer, Akbar Rafsanjani, was elected the Chairman of the Religious Majlis of Iran.

The Iranian press mentioned the slogan of "Death to the US" which was prohibited by Imam Khomeini, the former religious leader in 1980s.

Most believe that Ali Khamenei, the religious head of Iran, replaced the chairman of the Armed Forces to prevent such a case as when the US refers to the military 'Sepah' to counter-attack or dismantle terrorist organizations.

The victory of loyal Iranian forces in elections cannot positively affect the foreign ties of Iran and its settlement of conflicts, Isa Saharkhiz told Trend Agency by phone from Tehran.

American-Iranian relations cannot be improved until Ahmadinejat takes post, American political scientists consider. The loyal political forces won elections as a result of a strained pre-election race.

The victory of the loyal forces was approved by the other Supreme Religious Majlis of 'Navvab-e-Rais, Saharkhiz said.
