Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 August / Trend News corr. R.Ergun / Thomas Hessler, a former footballer of the German national team, is expected to be a new chief coach of the Azerbaijani football club Neftchi, sources close to the club said to Trend on 25 August.
On 24 August the leadership of Neftchi club dismissed Anatoliy Demyanenko, a former chief coach of the club. The leadership of the club negotiated with two German and one Holland coach to replace the Ukrainian coach.
Hessler, who is a real candidate for Neftchi, played for famous clubs. He played for Yuventus and Rome, as well as for the German national team in 101 matches.
Hessler worked as assistant coach of Berti Fogts, current coach of the Azerbaijani National team, in the Nigeria's national team.
Neftchi is expected to sign a contract with the German coach soon.
