Azerbaijani ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova applied Ombudsman for Human Rights of the Russian Federation Vladimir Lukin regarding illegal discharge of our compatriot and violation of his working rights. Our compatriot was an employee of the First Channel of Russia.
Suleymanova requested her Russian counterpart to consider this issue fairly within his privileges and take measures on restoration of our compatriot's rights.
The letter said that Lukin's interference in this issue will be another demonstration of implementation of the cooperation agreement's terms between Azerbaijani and Russian ombudsmen directed to strengthen state ensuring of human and citizen's rights and freedom.
Elhan Mirzoyev together with his colleague went on hunger-strike as a protest to his discharge.
