An illegal fishing fact revealed in the north of Azerbaijan.
The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's Territorial Department's employees (Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Davachi, Siyazan) carried out the raid to prevent cases of illegal fishing and sale of sturgeon in Siyazan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural resources told Trend .
During the examination in the course of the raid 16 sturgeons, one specimen of the long-nosed sturgeon were found in the car "VAZ-001" with state number 40 BG 086 on Baku-Guba highway on the territory of Siyazan region, and eleven sturgeon and two specimens of the long-nosed sturgeon in the car of "Moskvich" with state number 50 BN 951.
On the fact the Ministry's employees filed a report, and 30 illegally caught fishes for research was sent to the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Siyazan region. Above mentioned structure revealed that the fishes are not useful for human consumption, due to long-term storage at high temperatures.
In order to compensate the damage to nature in the amount of 6300 manats and adopt legislative measures against accused people, the Ministry had taken recourse to the Siyazan region Police Department.
