Azerbaijan, Baku, May 5 / Trend I. Isabalayeva /
About 144 institutions appealed to the Ministry of Health for a license to provide pharmaceutical and medical services in Azerbaijan this year, the Ministry of Health told Trend.
The Ministry of Health said that about 88 appeals were reviewed.
But 56 institutions failed to get a license as they did not abide by the rules approved by the Ministry of Health, and their working conditions did not meet the requirements.
Some institutions wanted to get a license for clinics, dental cabinets, pharmacy, surgery and outpatient services, the Ministry of Health said.
The Ministry of Health said that a central database was created.
At present about 252 outpatient, 79 stationary and 266 dental health-care institutions operate in Azerbaijan. About 82 institutions are involved in import medicines in the pharmacological sector.
There are 554 licensed pharmacies in Azerbaijan.
