BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. We are trying to demonstrate the high results at FIG World Cup in gymnastics in Baku, athlete from Ukraine who won the gold medal in parallel bars Ilya Kovtun, told Trend.
"We arrived in Baku a week before the start of World Cup and impressions from the visit are good. Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan received us warmly, preparation for the competition was good, Federation helped us a lot and created all the necessary conditions," he noted.
According to the Ukrainian athlete, diligent training helped to achieve a good result in the competition.
"Diligent trainings helped to win. Today I managed to do the exercises on the bars, on the switchboard, and i try to run the program without errors," he added.
FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup is being held from March 31 through April 3 in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. Some 145 gymnasts compete from 34 countries.
