Today, on September 22, in the office of Inquiry Department of Azerbaijan`s National Security Ministry, a confrontation between the former Officer of the Central Criminal Investigation department of the Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and Ex Economic Development Minister Farkhad Aliyev has taken place, Adil Ismayilov, a lawyer of Haji Mammadov told Trend today.
The lawyer told that the process of the examination conducted at the court today is a privacy of inquiry. No further comments were heard from him.
Haji Mammadov and Farkhad Aliyev have been brought to trial in the connection with the murder of Editor-in-Chief of Monitor journal Elmar Husseynov. The confrontation between them took place in the connection with the investigation of this criminal case.
1On September 15, 2006, the Public Prosecutor`s Office of Azerbaijan appealed to the Court for Serious Crimes and told that there is a need in the examination of Haji Mammadov and some members of his gang in the connection with the murder of Elmar Husseynov within the trial till September 23, 2006. The Public Prosecutor`s Office of the country asked to make an interval in the law proceedings till the above-mentioned date. The Court allowed this appeal and announced a break in the trial proceedings till September 25.
