Azerbaijan, Baku / Т corr I. Alizadeh / MP Ayaz Guliyev, a member of the Coordinating Committee on Ramil Safarov's Rights Protection, reported on 20 April that the Armenians have brought a suit against a Senior Lieutenant of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Ramil Safarov, sentenced to life-term imprisonment for murder of Gurgen Markarian, an Armenian officer, in Hungary. They demand a $500 contribution.
The Budapest City Court sentenced Safarov to a life imprisonment on 13 April, 2006. The Court of Appeal rejected the appeal and left the sentence in force.
