( news.sawf.org ) - Singer Justin Timberlake has launched his own record label, Tennman Records. The 26-year-old will be the chairman as well as the CEO of his Los Angeles-based label. Although the 'SexyBack' singer has not shed much light on his new venture, he insisted that he is all set to introduce it worldwide. "We are all excited about the talent we have to offer already on our roster and I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries," said Timberlake.
Chairman of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine insisted that the company is very excited to start something like this with the talented singer.
"Whenever you have the opportunity to get into business with someone as gifted as Justin Timberlake, you take it. We are thrilled to have his label as part of Interscope," Iovine said.
The new record label is due to announce its first contract officially in the next few weeks.
Justin Timberlake has amassed combined worldwide sales in excess of 13 million copies on his first two solo albums: Justified (2002, containing the hit singles "Like I Love You" featuring Clipse, "Cry Me A River," "Rock Your Body," and "Senorita") and FutureSex/LoveSounds with total worldwide sales of over 6 million (2006, with "SexyBack" featuring Timbaland, "My Love" featuring T.I., and "What Goes Around... Comes Around.")
Topping his list of numerous industry and consumer awards are his 4 Grammys: Best Pop Vocal Album for Justified and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Cry Me A River" at the 2004 ceremonies; and (at this year's Grammy Awards), Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "My Love" (featuring T.I.) and Best Dance Recording for "SexyBack" featuring Timbaland. Justin Timberlake has also been honored with awards at the MTV Video Music Awards in the U.S. and Europe, BRIT Awards, American Music Awards, Radio Music Awards, World Music Awards, Mobo Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, MTV's TRL Awards, and NRJ Awards.
