By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:
The value of goods exports by the Russian Agro-Industrial Complex to Azerbaijan may reach $1 billion, Trend reports citing the review of the Federal Center for the Development of Export of Agricultural Products of Russia.
According to the center, the main commodity items with the greatest potential are wheat, confectionery, sunflower oil, beet sugar, margarine, and other products.
“The factors affecting the food market in Azerbaijan include a high demand for organic and farm products, as well as products for healthy eating, a fast-growing segment of retail trade, which gives consumers access to a large number of both national and imported food, a growing demand for semi-finished products and ready-to-eat products,” said the message of the center.
The Azerbaijani market has great potential for development in the categories of kinds of margarine and mayonnaise products, therefore the group of companies Nizhny Novgorod Fats & Oils Group (NMGK) OJSC is interested in creating long-term partnerships.
“Currently, NMGK exports both unrefined sunflower oil and finished products to Azerbaijan. In addition to sunflower oil, corn oil is in great demand in Azerbaijan. It makes up almost half of the sales volume of the Azerbaijani market,” the center said.
Azersun holding is one of the largest partners of NMGK.
The company also supplies mayonnaise, sauces, and kinds of margarine to the Oba retail chain and the Veyseloglu distribution company. On the shelves of Azerbaijan, you can find both products familiar to Russian consumers - Ryaba mayonnaise, Astoria sauces and kinds of ketchup, 'Slivochnik' margarine, and products that we produce specifically for the Azerbaijani market. These are mayonnaises and kinds of ketchup TURK CHEF (own trademark of the ‘Oba’ market chain), as well as fatty product 'Alpiyskiy Lug', the center emphasized.
