The volume of wheat import by Azerbaijan decreased from January through November 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, this indicator amounted to slightly over one million tons, down by 208,082 tons (20.45 percent) on annual basis.
In the first 11 months of this year, the value of wheat import exceeded $287.5 million, which is 2.76 percent of Azerbaijan’s total import volume.
The total foreign trade turnover of the country increased by 32.85 percent or $7.5 billion in the reporting period compared to the same period of last year - from $22.7 billion to $30.2 billion.
As a result, while remaining positive, the foreign trade balance increased on an annualized basis by 178 percent or $6.01 billion - to $9.4 billion from January through November 2021 compared to $3.4 billion in 11M2020.
