BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan with European countries exceeded $10.4 billion in the first five months of 2022, while the share of these countries in Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to 77.89 percent, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with European countries grew by 2.29 times, or $5.8 billion on an annual basis. The share of these states in Azerbaijan’s overall import and export operations has risen by 11.73 percent, up to 77.89 percent.
Moreover, the country’s foreign trade turnover increased by 73.87percent, or $8.7 billion from January through May 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, from $11.82 billion to $20.5 billion.
Some $15.4 billion accounted for exports in the structure of foreign trade turnover, up by $7.98 billion (107.57 percent) compared to the same period of 2021. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover totaled 75.01 percent against 62.83 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports grew by $724.6 million, or by 16.91 percent during this period, from $4.3 billion to $5.1 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover reached 24.99 percent against 37.17 percent a year earlier.
