BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. Azerbaijan's GDP slightly increased from January through April 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, this figure amounted to 39.98 billion manat ($23.5 billion), up by 0.1 percent on an annual basis.
In the first four months of this year, value added in the non-oil industry grew by 3.1 percent, while in the oil and gas sector decreased by 2.9 percent year-on-year.
In the structure of GDP, the share of industry in the specified period was 46.8 percent.
Meanwhile, according to the committee, 8.9 percent of the GDP accounted for trade and repair of vehicles, 5.5 percent for transport and warehousing, 2.8 percent for agriculture, forestry, and fish farming, 4.6 percent for construction, 2.1 percent for the tourism sector, 1.5 percent for information and communications, while 17.6 percent of the GDP accounted for other sectors of the economy.
At the same time, net income from the import tax reached 10.2 percent of GDP.
From January through April this year, GDP per capita in Azerbaijan totaled 3,945 manat ($2,320).
Overall, Azerbaijan's GDP in 2022 increased by 4.6 percent to 133.8 billion manat ($78.7 billion) compared to the preceding year.
