BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. A total of 51.1 million manat ($30 million) was transferred to the state budget of Azerbaijan from the public property privatization and lease in the first four months of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, over the reporting period, 16 auctions were held for the privatization of public property.
During the auctions, shares of two joint-stock companies, eight small state-owned enterprises, one auxiliary construction site, and 198 cars were privatized at the auctions.
The budget revenues from the lease of public property in the first four months of this year amounted to 40.3 million manat ($23.7 million), which is 2.7 times more than the same period last year.
In the reporting period, the state budget revenues from the lease of the public property stood at 10.8 million manat ($6.3 million), having increased by 25.2 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, 130 online applications for state property put up for auction were received, and 26 online connections were made to participate in auctions through the Electronic Auction program. During this period, thanks to the activities of auctions, 13 mineral deposits were commissioned.
At the same time, 1,045 lease agreements, including 822 for the lease of land plots, and 223 agreements for the lease of non-residential premises, were concluded.
In 2022, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues from public property privatization amounted to 115.4 million manat ($67.8 million), up by 2.4 percent on an annual basis.
