Azerbaijan's total agricultural production value increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector at current prices amounted to 3.1 billion manat ($1.8 billion) from January through May 2023, up by 5.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, livestock production in value terms increased by 3.5 percent, up to 2.37 billion manat ($1.39 billion), while crop production value reached 743.7 million manat ($437.4 million), rising by 10.9 percent.

Spring crops were planted on an area of 341,810 hectares as of June 1, 2023, including cereals and legume crops (including corn) on 29,330 hectares, potatoes on 48,990 hectares, and vegetables on 59,320 hectares.

From January through May 2023, Azerbaijan produced 226,900 tons of meat, 909,500 tons of milk and 918.6 million chicken eggs. The production of meat increased by 3.09 percent, milk - by 2.09 percent, and chicken eggs - by 11.37 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

Azerbaijan’s agricultural output at current prices amounted to 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 billion) in 2022, which is 3.4 percent higher than in 2021. The production of livestock products in value terms increased by 3.4 percent, to 5.4 billion manat ($3.1 billion), and in the field of crop production – by 3.3 percent, to 5.5 billion manat ($3.2 billion).

In 2021, Azerbaijan’s agricultural output at current prices amounted to 9.16 billion manat ($5.39 billion) in 2020, which was 3.4 percent more than in 2020.

During this period, production in the livestock sector increased by 2.8 percent, to 4.6 billion manat ($2.7 billion), and in the field of crop production – by four percent, to 4.51 billion manat ($2.6 billion).в.
