ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 2. Seasonal agricultural activities are actively underway across Turkmenistan, with a focus on maintaining high standards in cotton cultivation and preparing for the upcoming harvest, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangriguli Atahalliyev reported during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Trend reports.
The meeting reviewed the agro-industrial sector's progress from January through July 2024, noting a remarkable production growth rate of 125.4 percent. Atahalliyev also highlighted that the investment utilization plan was off the charts at 434.1 percent, showing that the sector's advancement is getting a boatload of financial support.
To prepare for the cotton harvest, combine machinery, cotton-ginning businesses, and raw material receiving locations are outfitted. To ensure food sufficiency, potatoes are being prioritized for crop harvest. Also underway are field plowing, leveling, ridging, grading, and irrigation for wheat sowing.
Following the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of keeping the ball rolling on reforms in the agro-industrial complex. He instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to keep up the good work in the sector's overall growth.
