There is a 40-percent progress in the construction of railway line infrastructure in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province (southwestern Iran), an official of the Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization’s department in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Alireza Shojaei said, Trend reports citing the department’s website.

According to the Shojaei, the laying of rails on this railway line will be launched in May-June months of the next Iranian year.

He added that so far, 3.77 trillion rials (about $89.7 million) has been allocated for the construction of a railway line from Iran’s Isfahan Province to Shahr-e Kord city of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province.

The official noted that the construction of the 92-kilometer railway line began in 2011.

Shojaei stressed that it is planned to be allocated 2.5 trillion rials (about $59.5 million) for the construction of this railway line in the current Iranian budget (March 20, 2020 through March 21, 2021).

"In general, more 12 trillion rials (about $286 million) is needed for the construction and launch of the railway line," he said.

The Isfahan-Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari railway line will connect Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province to the Iranian railway network. The railway line will have tunnels with the total length of 5.28 kilometers and bridges with the length of 2.48 kilometers.
