IPIC to establish joint venture on ammonia production in Uzbekistan

Uzkimyosanoat (Uzbek Chemical Industry) state joint stock company and International Petroleum Investment Company (UAE) plan to build the industrial complex on production of ammonia and carbamide. 

The joint venture will be established to implement the project. This joint venture will manage the complex and production export, Uzbek Chemical Industry told Trend . Upon the founders' plans, over 70 percent of production will be directed for export.

According to Uzbek Chemical Industry, total cost of the project makes sup $1.34 billion.

The project is planned to be financed owing to foreign investments and loans in the amount of $1.072, the Uzbek Reconstruction and Development Fund's loan - $150 million, local banks' loans - $38 million and Uzkimyosanoat's own means - $80 million.  

The complex is planned to be constructed at the basis of Navoi Nitrogen in Navoi. Its project capacity will total 900,000 tons of ammonia and one million ton of carbamide. The complex's construction is planned to launch in 2010 and complete in 2013.

German MAN Ferrostaal AG will implement development of basis project and construction of the complex.
