Landscaping project contest announced in Tashkent

Mayor's office (administration) of the Uzbek capital - Tashkent has announced a contest of projects for the best design of the capital.

The aim of the contest, to be held until May 15, is to improve the city's infrastructure and to create better conditions for the population through the choice and implementation of current and future projects. The results of the contest will be summarized in late May - early June.

The contest is held on nine categories - "Landscape design and landscaping of streets," "Design of the crossroads", "Landscaping and design of inter-area", "Small architectural elements on the streets and squares," "Design of city streets and buildings through lighting and illumination," "Design of service sector facilities", "Design of recreation centers", "Modern examples of street furniture", "Improved models of advertising structures."

While choosing the projects, such criteria as visual perception, convenience for citizens and comprehensive functionality, the availability of the project, its innovation and originality will be taken into account.
The citizens, enterprises and facilities, public organizations, creative groups, architects and designers, student initiative groups may participate in the contest.

It is expected that the project will contribute to the improvement of city streets, design of buildings and structures, as well as further landscaping of the capital.

The authors of the best projects are waiting for cash prizes to the amount of three, two and one million soums for the first, second and third places respectively on each nomination.
