5 countries account for 60 per cent of Iran’s imports

The United Arab Emirates, China, South Korea, Turkey, and Switzerland account for 60 per cent of Iran's total imports in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended March 20.

The United Arab Emirates with 6.522 million tons of goods worth over 10.6 billion dollars was the main exporter of goods to Iran, the ISNA News Agency reported.

The figures show a 46 per cent decrease in Tehran's imports from the country in comparison to its preceding year.

China with 8.161 billion dollars, South Korea with 4.813 billion dollars, Turkey with 4.539 billion dollars, and Switzerland with 3.432 million dollars were the other main exporters of goods to Iran.

Iran's imports from China, South Korea, Turkey, and Switzerland faced 6.9 per cent, 2.1 per cent, 37 per cent, and 8.36 per cent increase respectively compared to its preceding year.

Iran totally imported 39.391 million tons of goods worth 53.348 billion in the previous calendar year.

The figures show a 7.13 per cent decrease and 6.2 per cent increase compared to the year before.
