By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

The July trading on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) amounted to 9.7 trillion tenges, which is 21.9 percent less than in early 2018, and 3 percent less than last year, finprom.kz website reported.

For the seven months of 2018, total trading on KASE stood at 74.5 trillion tenges, which is 24.5 percent, or 24.1 trillion tenges, less than in the same period last year.

The greatest reduction in trading is observed in the securities market - the trading value decreased by 64.2 percent for the year. Such a sharp outflow of liquidity from the securities market is associated with a fall in the trading in government securities by 77.2 percent (792.6 billion tenges).

As a result of a drop in interest on the part of securities traders, the share of the highly concentrated money market increased even further, to 85.3 percent.

Capitalization of the KASE index at the end of July 2018 amounted to 4.5 trillion tenges, which is 7.8 percent less than last year (4.8 trillion tenges).

(369.89 tenges = 1 USD on Sept. 6)
