Kazakhstan's GDP up by 4.1% (Exclusive)

In the first 9 months of this year, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Kazakhstan exceeded 39.87 trillion tenge, the National Economy Ministry told Trend.

Thus, Kazakhstan's GDP increased by 4.1 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

"The share of goods and services production in GDP in January-September 2018 was 38.9 and 53.6 percent, respectively. Industry (29.4 percent) and wholesale and retail trade (15.3 percent) accounted for the major shares in GDP," the ministry noted.

In particular, mining accounted for 15.7 percent of GDP in the first 9 months, manufacturing made up 11.7 percent, construction stood at 5.3 percent, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries accounted for 4.2 percent.

Wholesale and retail trade made up 15.3 percent, transport and warehousing stood at 7.6 percent, real estate transactions accounted for 6.9 percent, and financial and insurance activities made up 3.5 percent of GDP.

In addition, taxes on products provided 7.5 percent of Kazakhstan’s GDP in the reported period.
