Iran's PPI in power sector reduced 3.48 percent

The annual producer price index (PPI) for power production has decreased by 3.48 percent in summer of current Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), said Statistical Center of Iran.

The producer price index (PPI) for electricity production in summer's peak hours reached 127.72 against 129.96 indicating 0.95 percent fall comparing to the same period of last Iranian year (began March 21, 2018), Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to the statistics, PPI for power production in summer of current Iranian year was134.32 against 136.26 in last Iranian year showing 1.42 percent drop.

The average change in producer price index during summer peak hours has reached 130.97 comparing to 132.51 in last year that shows 1.16 percent drop. While the average PPI change for electricity production during low power consumption reached 147.71 against 151.26 in last Iranian year indicating 2.35 percent fall.

The PPI during summer of current Iranian year has totally reduced to -4.55 percent comparing to the same time in last year (started March 21,2018).

Iran's power sector had the lowest seasonal inflation rate of -2.2 percent, while the industrial sector was the biggest electricity consumer.
