BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the DB Group Eco’s enterprise on the cultivation of rare fish species on the Naryn River on June 26, Trend reports citing kun.uz.

The enterprise is operating in Uzbekistan’s Uchkurgan district.

According to the press service of the head of state, the annual production capacity of the enterprise is 1,500 tons of fish products.

“Based on European experience, intensive cultivation of delicatessen fish species, including trout and salmon, has been established at the enterprise. Caviar and feed of fish are imported from Denmark and Germany,” added the press service.

For growing these cold-loving species of fish, which inhabit mainly in fresh and oxygenated waters, water is pumped into the water bodies of the enterprise from the Naryn River itself and then returns back to the river.

On an area of 5 hectares, closed water have been built for the cultivation of caviar and fry, as well as 66 outdoor pools. Around 100 jobs have been created. With full capacity, the enterprise will be able to grow 2,000 tons of fish fry. Currently, trout is supplied to the domestic market in frozen form, as well as in the form of cold-smoked and hot-smoked, fillet and low salt content.

“Such rare fish species should be accessible to the public. Therefore, it’s necessary to localize the production of fish feed. Only when the cost decreases, the market will become more active, people will have more fish on the table, and the entrepreneurs’ profit will double,” the president said.

In addition to the above, Mirziyoyev emphasized the need for a serious approach to the construction projects of such enterprises, taking into account the specifics of fish farming.

The president added that it’s planned to implement 75 new projects worth 299 billion soms in Uchkurgan, Mingbulak, Uychi, Pap and Naryn districts of the region.

The head of state got acquainted with the presentation of new projects for the development of various sectors of agriculture in the region, in particular fish farming, animal husbandry, poultry farming, rabbit farming, beekeeping and goat farming.

So, in 2020, 84 new projects in the field of animal husbandry will be implemented in the region, meat processing enterprises will be created. The country’s Pap district has long been specializing in the cultivation of wool goats.
