The opening Turkmen carpet weaving enterprise took place in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The total area of the carpet enterprise is 5,000 square meters. The enterprise includes a production building, warehouses for raw materials and finished products, a number of objects of engineering and technical infrastructure, and life support for production.
The new enterprise will create classic samples of Turkmen carpets along with ornamental, story carpets, carpet portraits, etc.
Some 200 workplaces were created with the opening of the enterprise.
The Turkmen carpet is approved as one of the national symbols and declared the state property of the country.

Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are the production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand carpet-making tradition, and regeneration of old carpet ornaments and products.
Currently, the Turkmenhaly state association includes 8 enterprises of artistic carpet making, which have more than 100 carpet sections and workshops located in all the regions of Turkmenistan. These enterprises of artistic carpet making employ more than 5,000 carpet makers.
