Uzpromstroybank JSCB and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) discussed issues of joint implementation of projects in the field of supporting small and medium-sized businesses and the introduction of green financing instruments, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzpromstroybank.

Uzpromstroybank JSCB held a meeting with a delegation of the EBRD, headed by Managing Director of Financial Institutions Francis Malige, during which topical issues of the current state of cooperation between financial institutions, as well as priority areas for further expansion of cooperation were discussed.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the issues of joint implementation of projects in the field of supporting small and medium-sized businesses and the introduction of green financing instruments.

The parties worked out possible scenarios for further interaction and outlined further steps for the implementation of joint initiatives.

The active phase of cooperation between Uzpromstroybank JSCB and the EBRD began in 2019, and to date, several joint projects have been implemented to support the initiatives of representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.

In particular, active cooperation is carried out in the field of trade finance, financing of export-import operations of both the bank's clients, and in the field of supporting the export of business entities as a confirming bank under EBRD loan guarantees.

In addition, the EBRD participates in the process of improving treasury operations, managing assets and liabilities, as well as improving the skills of employees and financial literacy of the clients of Uzpromstroybank JSCB.

Uzpromstroybank JSCB is one of the oldest financial institutions in Uzbekistan, operating since the opening of the Central Asian office of the Industrial Bank in Tashkent in 1922.
