The number of enterprises was newly created in Uzbekistan (excluding farms and family farms) as of January 1, 2021, which amounted to 95,311, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In comparison with the corresponding period of 2019, the number of newly created enterprises in Uzbekistan decreased by 1,432 enterprises.
Tashkent city registered the largest number of newly created enterprises and organizations, which accounts for 14,845. Almost two times fewer enterprises were created in the Samarkand region – 8,828, Tashkent region – 8,481, Fergana region – 8,272, Andijan region – 7,849, and in the Surkhandarya region – 7,666.
Insignificantly fewer newly created enterprises and organizations were established for the reported period in Namangan region – 6,345, Bukhara region – 6,041, Kashkadarya – 5,916, Khorezm region – 4,721 and in the Karakalpakstan Republic – 4,568.
In addition, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations created as of January 1 in the Jizzakh, Navoi, and Syrdarya regions amounted to 4,384, 4,354, and 3,011 enterprises, respectively.
In the structure of newly established enterprises by type of economic activity, the largest number of enterprises for the reported period fell on-trade sector. Some 35,225 enterprises were newly created in Uzbekistan in 2020.
Significantly fewer enterprises were newly established in the industry sphere, amounting to 18,626. It is followed by agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors with 15,030 newly established enterprises.
At the same time, 6,022 enterprises were newly established in Uzbekistan in 2020. Some 5.639 enterprises account for accommodation and food services.
The committee also reports that the number of newly created enterprises and organizations created as of January 1 in transportation and storage, information and communication, and health care and social services amounted to 2,399, 1,922, and 1,475 enterprises, respectively
