BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. Iran’s local van production increased by 40.6 percent in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, 1,955 vans were manufactured within the country for 6 months.
In the same time period last year, Iran’s local van production stood at 1,390 units.
In the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran produced 584 vans within the country.
Meanwhile, Iran manufactured a total of 3,164 vans domestically over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 267 percent compared to 862 vans in the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies—Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro—operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
