Azerbaijan agreed with the proposal of Egypt on opening of new flight between two countries. The aggrement was achieved as a result of repeated meeting Yusif Ahmad Al-Sharkavi, the Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, with the head of AZAL Air Lines Company.
The initiative on opening of new flight and extension of the existing flight Baku, Shahm-al-Sheikh belongs to the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Egypt proposed to extend the flight Baku, Shahm-al-Sheikh to Cairo and open new flights to other Egyptian cities.
The extension of the existing flight will solve the problem of the Egyptian goods export to Azerbaijan via other countries and establish favorable conditions for businessmen of both countries.
It will also stimulate goods turnover between Azerbaijan and Egypt, which comprised around $1.2m in 2004.
The experts of the countries are currently working on the proposal. The issue will be considered by the Interstate Commission on Economic Cooperation.
