Russia imports 330 mln KW/h energy from Azerbaijan in 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 30/ Trend / Inter RAO-EES OJSC, Russia's operator of export and import of electricity, imported 335.5 million kilowatt/hour electricity from Azerbaijan in 2008, the company's website reported.
Electricity supplies from Azerbaijan to Russia made up 11 percent of Russian total imports worth 3.05 billion kilowatt/hour. Russia's total electricity import increased 2.57 billion kilowatt/hour from 2007.
Kazakhstan exported 2.2 billion kilowatt/hour electricity to Russia (70.9 percent) and Georgia - 443.1 million kilowatt/hour (14.2 percent).
In 2008, Inter RAO-EES exported electricity mainly to Finland, Belarus and Kazakhstan. They account for 73 percent of exports (51.2 percent, 11.6 percent and 10.7 percent respectively). The company exported electricity to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia and Norway.
