The number of filling stations under SOCAR brand will reach 34-35 units in Georgia by late 2009, Makhir Mammadov, head of SOCAR Energy Georgia (subsidiary of SOCAR) said on Feb. 25.
"Presently, seven-eight filling stations are under construction. The number of filling stations are planned to reach 34-35 by late 2009," Mammadov said.
Totally, 20 filling stations operate under SOCAR brand in Georgia now, he said. Other three stations are planned to open in the nearest days, one in Batumi and two in Tbilisi.
"We have many plans. We want our company to take the first place in retail and we will achieve this goal during some years. We will be close to this goal if the number of our filling stations reaches 60-70," Mammadov said.
SOCAR Energy Georgia deals with distribution and marketing on oil and oil products market in Georgia. Particularly, the company sells oil products and gas on Georgia's market.
Co-founders of SOCAR Georgia include SOCAR - 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO - 32.7 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili - 16.3 percent.
