The initial program of the international conference to be held as a part of the 16th international exhibition "Oil and Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals" (Caspian Oil and Gas 2009) to take place on June 3-4 in Baku, has been defined, the organizer of the exhibition Iteca Caspian said.
The conference will focus on the role of the Caspian region in energy security, improving environment in Azerbaijan, taxation, and favorable conditions for investment in Azerbaijan, Caspian trade in oil and gas: the cooperation between neighboring states, glance at the East: intergovernmental cooperation with Far Eastern countries, further cooperation through the ports of Georgia and Turkey and development of infrastructure and logistics.
On the second day of the conference, participants will discuss alternative routes for the reliability of supply of European consumers, the gas pipeline "Nabucco": identification of gas suppliers and financiers of the project, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia as potential suppliers of the Nabucco pipeline, South Stream as an alternative route for the supply of Europe, the expansion of BTC: the impact of Kazakhstan's raw materials to the main power line and shipment of raw materials by rail in Azerbaijan and Georgia, Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan agreement on the Trans-Caspian system: transportation of energy resources of Central Asia to the Western market, the European gas market and its potential for gas in Caspian region , Iran as a potential exporter of gas to Europe: benefits and obstacles.
Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry and SOCAR will render official support to the Caspian Oil and Gas 2009.
