The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) develops a plan to transfer the infrastructure and communications in the shallow part of the Guneshli field to install two-unit gas lift platform, a source in the company said today.

"An area with the lowest density of the infrastructure and communications, oil and gas pipelines, was chosen to set the platform. The Neftqazelmitedqiqatlahiye institute [designing of oil and gas facilities] is developing a scheme of infrastructure transfer," the source said.

According to the source, the work on transfer of infrastructure, and installing blocks of the platform will be launched after the plan will be prepared. The works will require a few months.

Both units of the platform are ready for delivering to the field. One of the units had been built at Baku Deep Water Jacket Plant named after Heydar Aliyev

and the second - on the basis of supporting block Guneshli-20 unused since 1990.

This platform will be installed in Guneshli on the depth of 90-92 meters, 50 meters of existing Guneshli-4 platform. A foot bridge will connect the platforms. A social infrastructure, including a living block, a dining-room, a reserve oil-rig and helipad will be common for both platforms in accordance with the project.

The topsides of the new platform will be used for technical needs. A new gaslift station, consisting of eight cars will be built there. The gas pressure of 125 atmospheres will be pumped into reservoirs with the help of this station. Topsides including compressor station and the entire industrial infrastructure will be designed and manufactured overseas.

The project of hydro technical bearing was prepared by SOCAR's scientific-research and design institute Neftqazelmitеdqiqatlayihе.
