KMG ups production volume by 18.6 percent

Kazakhstan national company KazMunayGas (KMG) continues to maintain the positive trend of financial and production indicators, KMG Head Kairgeldi Kabildin said at the board meeting of the National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna Aug.12.

"The volume of oil and gas condensate production in the first half of 2010 amounted to 10.7 million tons, exceeding the corresponding figure for the same period of 2009 by 18.6 percent," Kabildin said.

He said the volume of oil transportation by main pipelines totaled 32.8 million tons, or more by 8 percent over the same period of 2009. In the first half of 2010 the volume of oil transportation by sea amounted to 3.4 million tons.

"The volume of gas transportation was 52 billion cubic meters, which is 12 percent higher than the figure of 2009," Kabildin said.

Consolidated volume of oil refining totaled 7.7 million tons of oil as of July 1, 2010, which is a half times higher than the same period of 2009.

"Consolidated processing volume at the three refineries in Kazakhstan totaled 5.8 million tons of oil for the first half 2010," Kabildin said.

Based on the company's data, share of tax revenues of all companies in which the KMG has a direct and indirect participation in Kazakhstan's budget amounts to 22.2 percent, while proportionately KMG's share in these firms is 10.5 percent.

KMG is Kazakhstan's national operator for the exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state's interests in oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan. KazMunaiGas is completely owned by JSC" National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
