The oil price of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) rose to 81.51 dollars at midweek, the group said Thursday, DPA reported.
Climbing for the sixth day, OPEC's basket price gained 1.37 dollars per barrel (159 litres) on Wednesday.
The cartel's oil ministers are scheduled to meet next Thursday in Vienna to discuss their production quotas.
