Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 25 / Trend E.Ismayilov /

The commissioning of the gas compressor station at the Guneshli-4 platform on the Guneshli-4 offshore field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is delayed due to the need for additional work on the commissioning and testing services, a source in the Sate Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) reported. The Gunashli-4 field is in the balance of SOCAR.

The work is underway on the reconstruction of the pumping station, which will pump liquid (oil and gas condensate), the source said.

The company will make every effort to ensure that the station was ready by late 2010, the source said.

The company installs the new station to collect daily 400,000 cubic meters of low pressure associated gas emitted into the atmosphere at the field.

Previously, this gas emitted into the atmosphere due to lack of infrastructure, which causes great harm to the environment. The cost of the project on creating the necessary infrastructure and its realization is estimated at $150 million. The volume of emissions is about 150-250 million cubic meters of gas a year.
