Iran to increase oil production by developing Khesht oilfield

Iran will increase oil production capacities by 30,000 barrels per day by operating the Khesht oil field, PANA news reported quoting Managing Director of Iranian Central Oil Fields Co Mehdi Fakour as saying.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al-Anbia Co will participate in the Khesht oilfield development plan.

"Khesht oil field has been developed by over 64 percent," he said. "Iran invested a total of 40 million euro in oilfield project."

The project includes drilling four new wells, constructing oil pipeline and well head installations, boosting gas injection to wells, while the Iranian official expect the development of Khesht oil field to complete by the end of current solar year (started on March 20, 2011).

Khesht oil field is located in an area between Kazeroun and Borazjan, central province of Fars, and transfers oil to Ganaveh pumping station for further export through a 96-kilometer pipeline.
