Iranian Petropars and IGC companies inked a deal today with the goal of boosting output at the offshore section of the South Pars gas field's phase 1, the Shana news agency reported.

The phase 1 is currently producing 1000 million cubic feet of natural gas per day at two platforms. Once the project come son stream, the same amount will be produced at just one of the platforms.

The project will add 200 million cubic feet to the total output of the South Pars gas field.

The phase 1 is projected to produce 920 million cubic feet of gas, 40,000 barrels of condensates, and 200 tons of solid sulfur per day.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
