Gas debt of Kyrgyzgas to Kazakhstan hit roughly $30 million, Kazakh KazTransGas reported on Thursday.

"According to the contract signed between KazTransGas and Kyrgyzgas, KazTransGas supplies gas to the North Kyrgyzstan on a prepayment basis. Due to the fact that the Kyrgyz party did not make any payment, and given the current debt of Kyrgyzgaz worth $3.5 million and its debt worth $26.6 million in the previous years, KazTransGas partially restricted gas supply to Kyrgyzstan from Dec.13 to Dec.18, 2012," the company said.

Earlier KazTransGas partially limited gas supply to Kyrgyzstan "in connection with the bad weather condition, limited supply of Uzbek gas, as well as increased gas consumption in the south of Kazakhstan". Following phone talks between the prime ministers of the two countries gas supplies were restored in full amount.
