Turkey’s largest thermal power plant privatized

Privatization of Turkey's largest thermal power plant "Seyitomer" in the province of Kutahya is completed, the State Privatization Agency of Turkey published on Saturday on its website.

Tender for privatization of the Turkish company was won by Celikler İnsaat. The cost of privatization amounted $2.2 billion.

As part of privatization, licenses for the use of movable and immovable property of TPP, mines exploited by thermal power plant, are presented as well.

TPP "Seyitomer" works on lignite. Its capacity is 600 megawatts. Privatization of three more thermal power plants, "Hamitabat" with 1120 MW capacity, "Soma" with 1034 MW capacity and "Chan" with capacity of 320 megawatts, is to follow.
