The average price of North American crude oil was $53.36 per barrel on Jan. 6, or $0.17 more than on Jan. 5, 2016, a source on Azerbaijan’s oil and gas market told Trend Jan. 7.
The spot price for US crude oil WTI (Cushing), produced in the US state of Texas, increased by $0.21 to stand at $53.98 per barrel on Jan. 6. The density of WTI is 40 degrees API, sulfur content - 0.4-0.5 percent. This sort of oil is mainly used to produce gasoline and therefore the demand for it is high, particularly in the US and China.
The price of US crude oil WTS (Midland) was $52.61 per barrel on Jan. 6, or $0.01 less than the previous price.
The cost of LLS light oil amounted to $55.56 per barrel on Jan. 6, or $0.31 more than the previous price.
The price of American oil Mars was $51.31 per barrel on Jan. 6, or $0.19 more than the previous price.
The price of North American oil Bakken was $53.36 per barrel on Jan. 6, or $0.19 more than the previous price.
The price of February futures for North American crude oil Nymex Light Sweet was $53.99 per barrel, or $0.23 more than the previous figure.
