President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the United Arab Emirates headed by the Minister of Energy and Industry Suhail Mohammed Faraj Al Mazroui, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The parties emphasized that the exchanges of high-level delegations that took place in recent months made it possible to identify specific areas and priority measures for the implementation of the adopted decisions and signed agreements.
The meeting focused on the implementation of promising projects in various sectors of the economy, including construction and modernization of power plants, development of new fields and the deep processing of hydrocarbons, the creation of modern chemical and agro-industrial enterprises, logistics centers, infrastructure development in the regions of Uzbekistan, as well as other joint initiatives.
The importance of the exchange of experience in promoting effective reforms aimed at improving the competitiveness of the country's economy, as well as expanding cooperation in the training of highly qualified personnel was noted as well.
Currently, there are working groups for each priority direction of the partnership to develop relevant proposals and conduct specific bilateral events.
As a result of negotiations, mutual commitment to the consistent development and strengthening of multifaceted relations for the benefit of the peoples of the two states was confirmed.
The last visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United Arab Emirates took place on March 24-28 of this year. The parties agreed to implement joint projects and agreements for more than $10 billion as a result.
