Trend:
Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company Mohammad Meshkin Fam said that the supply of gas from South Pars field continues with continuous efforts, Trend reports via IRNA.
Currently 630 million cubic meters of gas is produced per day at the South Pars field, he said.
"We are trying to get the new platforms installed and be ready for production soon," he said, referring to the installation of new platforms at the South Pars field this year.
“According to our plans, the 24B platform will be put into operation in the next two weeks,” Fam said.
Citing the 14D platform as the latest platform of phase 14, he said that currently the company is waiting for the weather to improve, after which the platform will be installed.
The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company stated that nearly 70 percent of the country's gas is produced from South Pars, saying that each South Pars platform approximately supplies one province's need for gas.
"We have to keep in mind that our hydrocarbon resources are limited and that consuming whatever we produce is not good,” he said. “So we need to have a mechanism in place to control this process.”
