Russian company engages in construction of HPPs of Uzbekistan

Russia's Power Machines company will complete the modernization of the Farkhadskaya hydropower plant in 2021, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekhydroenergo company.

Corresponding agreement was reached at the meeting of Abdugani Sanginov, chairman of the board of Uzbekhydroenergo, with Power Machines' delegation led by company General Director Timur Lipatov.

The modernization project of the Farkhadskaya hydroelectric station is scheduled to be completed in 2021.

In 2020, it is planned to spend $28.3 million by supplying modern technological equipment and performing construction and installation works.

From this year on, the execution of additional four new contracts for the construction and modernization of the hydropower plants with a total capacity of 275 mW and cost 138.4 million euros will begin, which significantly expands the scope of work.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved resolutions of technical and economic feasibility study of all projects.

According to the project, commissioning of the Sardobinskaya hydropower plant (10.7 mW) is envisaged in July 2021, the small hydropower plant on the Dargom canal picket (6.4 MW) and the Bagishamalskaya hydropower plant on the Dargom canal (6.45 mW) in August 2021, the Nizhnechatkalskaya hydropower plant (76 mW) in December 2022, and the Tupalang hydropower plant (175 mW) in December 2021.

Uzbekhydroenergo was established in accordance with the Decree of the president of Uzbekistan "On the organization of joint stock company Uzbekhydroenergo" dated May 18, 2017, to form a unified management system for water and energy resources of Uzbekistan, and to provide centralized technological management of hydroelectric facilities. The Company has four joint stock companies, 15 unitary enterprises and three limited liability companies.
