National Iranian Drilling Company talks "Fath 71" drilling rig’s operation

Iran’s "Fath 71" drilling rig has drilled 51,000 meters at 15 wells so far, Managing Director of the National Iranian Drilling Company Abdollah Mousavi said at a ceremony dedicated to the commissioning of the Fath 72 drilling rig, Trend reports referring to the National Iranian Oil Company’s website.

The "Fath 71" drilling rig was put into operation in August 2018, Mousavi noted.

The managing director added that a contract for the production of drilling rigs was signed between Iran’s Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) and Iran’s National Drilling Company in 2015.

Mousavi said that 45 percent of equipment used in production of the "Fath 72" drilling rig was manufactured domestically.

The director noted that the "Fath 73" drilling rig will be commissioned by the middle of next Iranian year (beginning March 21, 2020).

The "Fath 72" drilling rig was produced under the management of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR).

Drilling to the depth of 20,000 feet is possible with this rig.

A contract for a total of 33 million euros was signed for the production of all three drilling rigs.
