The licenses have been issued for the installation of 71 solar panel stations in the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran), Executive Director of West Azarbaijan Electricity Power Distribution Company Akbar Hassanbeklu said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran’s official website.
According to Hassanbeklu, the total production capacity of these stations will be 515 kilowatts.
Hassanbeklu added that at present, 21 subscribers have solar panel stations and their stations produce a total of 133 kilowatts of electricity.
"In addition, solar panel stations have been installed in four government offices in the West Azerbaijan Province. The total production volume of these stations is 467 kilowatts," he said.
The official said that the West Azarbaijan Electricity Power Distribution Company is purchasing additional electricity for subscribers with solar panel stations.
Iran's West Azerbaijan Province produces 1,280 megawatts a year and consumes a maximum of 1.1 megawatts.
