Kazemeini noted that this is the first time that MOS equipment produced in Iran has been installed on a field and put into operation.

Kazemeini added that 16.5 cents will be spent for the extraction of each barrel of oil with the installation and commissioning of this equipment and the daily extraction from the South Yaran oil field will increase by more than 5,000 barrels.

The official emphasized that currently, 12 wells are in operation in the South Yaran field, and 6 more wells are planned to be commissioned.

South Yaran Oil Field is one of the jointly implemented Iranian-Iraqi projects, located to the west of the Karun River and 130 km southwest of the Ahvaz County of Iran’s Khuzestan Province.

The field contains 550 million barrels of oil and the recoverable reserves are estimated at 50 million barrels. The heavy oil grade of this field is API 20. Currently, a project to extract 50,000 barrels of oil per day from this field is being implemented.
