Uzbekneftegaz to prevent gas production decrease at Uzbek gas field

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 11

By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

In the Shurtan oil and gas production department, located in the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region (Uzbekistan), work is actively underway on ensuring a stable volume of natural gas production and preventing natural fall, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbeknegtegaz.

The Shurtan field is one of the largest fields in Uzbekistan with an annual gas production of 6.0-7.0 billion cubic meters. In order to preserve natural gas production at the field and reduce the natural fall in wells, constant optimization is carried out.

In particular, the construction and installation of a gas pipeline with a diameter of 1020x15 mm with a total length of 9100 p/m from the 1st and 2nd stages of primary gas treatment to compressor station-2 has begun.

Construction work is carried out by UzLITIneftegaz JSC design organization, and construction and installation work is carried out by Muborakneftegazmontazh JSC.

Components and reinforcing fittings for the gas pipeline are supplied at the expense of the internal needs and reserves of Uzbekneftegaz JSC enterprises.

The commissioning of the gas pipeline to be installed will ensure the simultaneous operation of gas-pumping compressors, prevention of hydraulic resistance and an increase in gas production.

As a result of the expansion of the gas pipelines, an additional 400,000 cubic meters of natural gas will be produced per day by reducing the gas pressure in the gas wells and control pipelines.

There are two primary gas treatment units at the Shurtan field, each with a design capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas processing per year.
