Kazakh maritime company exceeds oil shipment targets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov.12

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot (KMTF) transported 7.2 million tons of oil from January through September 2020, the company told Trend in Nov.12.

The company noted that the actual transportation volume exceeded the targeted volume by 164 percent.

"The weekly feeder shipments in the direction of Azerbaijan have been carried out by Kazmortransflot for only a year and a half, but this line is becoming more and more popular and shippers already consider it as a stable and regular route," said the company.

So, according to the results of nine months of 2020, KMTF transported over 9,811 TEUs via the feeder line.

"Most of the containers went from China to Europe. Respectively, 6,600 TEUs were delivered from Aktau to Baku, and more than 3,200 TEUs from Baku to Aktau," the company noted.

Currently, in Kazakhstan, services to vessels of various tonnages are provided via three seaports, which are Aktau, Bautino, and Kuryk.

Aktau seaport is located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea at the intersection of several international transport corridors.

Cargo area ‘Bautino’ in the village of the same name is a subdivision of the National Company ‘Aktau International Sea Trade Port’ JSC.
