Azerbaijan’s natural gas output pace over past 10 years

Azerbaijan’s natural gas output, including associated gas has increased from 26.312 billion cubic meters in 2010 to 35.610 billion cubic meters in 2019, Trend reports.

The country saw fluctuations in natural gas production over this period.

Azerbaijan’s overall gas production in 2010 was 26.312 billion cubic meters of which 16.673 billion cubic meters accounted for commercial gas. Around 12.370 bcm accounted for associated gas and 13.943 bcm accounted for natural gas.

The production dropped to 25.728 bcm in 2011, with 13.360 bcm and 12.368 bcm being associated gas and natural gas respectively. Commercial gas volume stood at 16.361 bcm.

The country’s output rose again in 2012 to 26.796 bcm, including 17.242 bcm of commercial gas. The associated gas and natural gas production stood at 4.483 bcm and 12.759 bcm respectively.

Azerbaijan’s gas production was on rise in 2013 and 2014 making up 29.245 bcm and 29.555 bcm respectively. The volume of commercial gas output stood at 17.895 bcm in 2013 and 18.827 bcm in 2014.

Associated and natural gas production was 13.945 bcm and 15.300 bcm respectively in 2013. While in 2014, these figures stood at 13.945 bcm and 15.610 bcm respectively.

The production nosedived to 29.175 bcm in 2015, including 13.663 bcm of associated gas and 15.512 bcm of natural gas, while commercial gas output made up 19.236 bcm.

The country returned back to growth with 29.331 bcm in 2016, including 13.952 bcm of associated gas and 15.379 bcm of natural gas. The volume of commercial gas stood at 18.718 bcm.

Gas production dropped for the last time during the reporting period in 2017 standing at 28.596 bcm with 18.186 bcm being commercial gas. Around 13.905 bcm accounted for the associated gas and 14.691 bcm accounted for natural gas.

In 2018, the overall volume of gas output stood at 30.490 bcm, including 14.046 bcm of associated gas and 16.444 bcm of natural gas, while commercial gas made up 19.207 bcm.

Finally, in 2019 Azerbaijan produced 35.610 bcm, of which 24.514 bcm was commercial gas. The volume of associated gas and natural gas output stood at 13.578 bcm and 22.032 bcm respectively.
